Camps Bay with Kids - advice please

Hi We are planning a family celebration in Camps Bay in January. We are thinking of renting a villa near the beach. We have 3 children in the group aged 2, 5 and 7. How child friendly is Camps Bay? Any recommendations of places to visit with kids? Also, how secure is renting a villa? A few people have rattled me by saying we should stay in a hotel and not risk a villa as it is too dangerous??? Is this just people being alarmist or would we be better off all booking into a hotel. Any advice gratefully received! Many thanks, A.

Have a look at Village and Life in Camps Bay for Villa's to rent for your January stay. They are one of the highly recommended companies that specializes in self catring apartments and villa's in Camps Bay, www.villageandlife.com . O yes and for your kids, it is indeed a friendly part of Cape Town to base you at. Close to the beach but not so much activity for the kids. For more things to do, you have activities outside of Cape Town.

Renting a villa is not a security risk at all. I am personally involved in the industry and it really is not something to be concerned about. Security in Camps Bay is generally very good and I would not let concern you too much.

Camps Bay is great for kids. They will love the beach and its safe and secure. Villas if you can get one are fine - no problem or an apartment.
