Am I asking the impossible

Would like to spend 8 weeks between mid November and mid January in Cape Town self-catering (would have liked Knysna but that doesn't seem possible!!!!). A one-bedroom apartment with a balcony or terrace would be sufficient as we are two pensioners desperate to get away from the cold Yorkshire weather . The thing is we don't want to spend much more than £3000 for the accommodation (yes, I know the Christmas period is expensive). Is this possible or not. If not, we might just have to think of something else.

Thanks everyone - we rely on you all and the DE's.

Ascot Gardens, Bergvliet, Constantia Valley. Looks OK and walkable to shopping and a couple of restaurants. Good reviews on TA. Great price. Time will tell!!!! Am so thrilled we can manage to stay over Christmas/new year/birthday period - all my friends are truly jealous.
