Oudtshoorn overnight trip

Overnight trip from Cape Town to Oudtshoorn.

Best route to avoid Garden Route traffic?

Overnight accommodation near Buffelsdrift (it is booked).

Thanks in advance!!

Take the N1 to Worcester. Then head out on the R60 to Montague and the R62 from there to Oudshoorn. This will be the quickest route.

A more scenic route would be via Stellenbosch, Franschoek, over the pass to Villersdorp and on to Worcester where you take the above mentioned R60.

A 3rd route is to take the N7 to Malmesbury and then follow the R46 to Wolseley and then the R43 to Worcester.

Curious, based on your title it looks like you are driving to Oudshoorn, overnight and then driving back to cape Town. If so that is a lot of driving and I would suggest 2 nights in Oudshoorn, or alternatively a night stay over on the way back.

It is a really long way to drive for just a one night stay!

Why not spend a few nights on the Garden Route?
