City tour suggestions - Walking?

We are in CT for 6 nights and have already booked a full day Peninsula and a full day winelands Tour.

We are also keen to see the sights in the city itself (buildings/people/architecture/beaches) would a walking tour be our best bet? Any suggestions?

We would also like to possibly combine this with a trip to a township or Robben Island. Any suggestions anyone?

Just for info we don't mind paying for a private tour.

Consider getting a two day pass for the HOHO bus. It will take you to most city sites and you can get on and off and spend as much time where you choose. If you want to do Robben Island, book online ahead of time. There is one small township you can visit on the bus route.

T here is no equal to walking the City. It's reasonably small and compact and you get to see a heck of a lot more by walking.

You can reach a number of museums and attractions within walking distance. Cape Town is a pretty compact city.

There are a number of tours available where you can combine a city tour with a township tour for example. As already mentioned above book your Robben Island tour online in advance as this is very popular. By the way the best time for Robben Island is the morning tour at 9am.

Just got back from Capetown spending 5 days on Oct 8th. I would definitely recommend the hop on hop off bus 2 day pass. The narrative provided is very useful and you can later go back to the area you deem you are more interested to explore more.

There is a free walking tour ( tip only) that leaves The Catherdral on Wale St at the top of St George's Mall at 11am everyday, it takes about 3hrs and was very interesting.
