Rixon Premium

Hi, thinking of going to Turkey this year and likethe look of Rixos Premium. We are a family of 4, children will be 16 and 13 (so will be adult prices). The prices I am getting are around £8000. I think this is extortionate. Im getting these prices from Thomson and Thomas Cook. Gloria Hotels were just over £6500. Has anyone any ideas other agents I could try. Been to Mexico the last 4 years and seem to get much better value for money. Thank you.

Hi Teluk

You could try Direct Holidays, which are part of t cook but quite often cheaper, not sure when you wanted to go, but did a quick price, going in mid august was £6180-00 with 2 double rooms.

Hi TELUK

We have also been to Mexico a couple of times but have been to Turkey 8 times and are returning this summer as we have found that the AI hotels compare favourably with those in Caribbean :)

We stayed at the Rixos Premium for a week in July 2009 with our two children (then aged 14 and 11). We also paid adult prices as we booked two standard interconnecting rooms. We booked our flights and accommodation separately. I know it was two years ago but to give you a very rough idea we paid £2215 for the 2 rooms and approx £700 for our four flights. What dates do you plan to travel, from which airport and for how many nights? We have also stayed at the Gloria Golf Hotel (in July 2010). If you have any questions about either hotel please ask.

You may wish to look at a couple of on line travel agents to get an idea of how much the holiday would cost if your priced it separately; www.travelrepublic.com or www.teletextholidays.com www.fleetwaytravel.com or www.a1travel.co.uk. There are many others but take a look at those to start with by way of a comparison. For a package holiday take a look on the directholidays website as they are part of Thomas Cook but their prices are usually cheaper. Also you could check out www.hotels4u.com are owned by Thomas Cook I think.

Thanks jigglypuff. We will be going around 12 Aug for 2 weeks. Gatwick is our local airport. I have tried A1 travel, Direct Holidays and Hotels 4U but all have the same sort of prices. I will take a look at others you suggested. I cant see the prices staying so high-hopefully! Thanks again.

Hi again TELUK

We also fly from Gatwick and generally book our flights direct with easyJet. I have to agree with you that the hotel rates do seem to still be very very high for this coming summer season. I really hope that they come down although it is highly unlikely that the flight prices or package holiday prices will drop. Here are some other websites for you to check out but I suspect that the prices may be similar to those you have looked at.

Some of these travel agents also offer up to 7% cash back via Quidco, TopCashBack etc which can add a further saving.

Hi TELUK

I have just booked for Rixos Belek at the end of May however I found the best price was on Thomas Cooks website, then phoned through and they beat it, ended up paying £3099 for 2 adults & a 10 year old. There were difference in prices of upto £1500 compared to some operators. When I priced for my father & son to share a room it was more expensive than 2 adults, due to cost he has now decided not to come. You will also need to look at room choices as they vary by hundreds of pounds. We normally book through Directholidays but they were more expensive this year. Also be aware of sale offers as they are sometimes more expensive. Hope you find a good deal.

Hi, which of the 2 hotels you talked about ie the rixos premium and the gloria verde did you prefer. we are 2 adults and 2 kids age 12 and 8 and are deciding between the two hotels for 2 weeks in july this year. As my kids are both getting child prices we can go for a family room, can you advise on which would be the better option?
