Double in prices !!! Gob smacked.

We've been to olu for the past 3 years now always staying at the imparator. I just thought I would have a look what next years prices were like. We're not too sure if we are going to have a holiday as we're hopefully going to be buying our first house around that time. But if that wasn't a reason to go the price has nearly doubled!! Last year went up slightly by about £30 so I'm sure we paid about 480 each. Now it's saying £856 per person. All the same dates and from the same airport!! Surely this can't be right!!! Is there any ways to make it a lot cheaper. We always book through thomson as I worry about sorting everything out separately but might be the way forward if its half the price!!

Thomson are now very expensive even with flights alone. Try travelrepublic.com or monarch holidays amongst others for other choices.

I have booked with Thomson for next May, I was checking on a daily basis and found that the prices for the same holiday / hotel would vary by significent amounts (nearly on a daily basis). I think they have favoured hotels they try and fill, before offering more decent deals on other hotels. It seems to be a bit of a lottery. But I found it was alot cheaper to book as a package than doing it myself, but I could have just got lucky. Hope you get sorted soon.

Look at Sun Save Site. I only came across them this year, but very impressed with their prices & flights.

Re post 2 - don't forget to clear your cookies after a search. Doesn't always work but usually does.

Hi Alison,

I can speak from experience - however it's very difficult to prove that cookies leave a trail that can be used by websites. I have found on several occasions the price has gone up on a daily basis (like for like) only to go back to the original price when I clear the search history/cookies and start again. But it's also been covered by numerous articles and here is just one (many more if you search). Whatever the result it's certainly worth a try.
