El Calafate or Iguazu?

I will be going to BA at the end of November and am starting to do some research on what we should do.

We will be there for 8 1/2 days and want to go to either El Calafate or Iguazu as we don't have time for both. I assume we would do two nights regardless of which one we choose.

I realize these are probably two very different experiences but I wanted to hear your thoughts on this.

Thanks!

This is a question that comes up from time to time, so maybe searching the forum you'll find some answers to it.

I'd choose Calafate. Is ideal to be visited in November, although you may expect expensive flights, excursions and hotels ("expensive" for Argentina standards). Don't miss the hiking over the glacier!. Oh, and two nights seems just fine to Calafate, be aware that you may be left crying for more!!!

Cheers!

Hello Janet-- I dont know if a certain budget is an issue, but, El Calafate is more expensive than Iguazu. Of course, both locations have accomodations and services for all levels, but similar accomodations will be more expensive in El Calafate. Also, airfare to Patagonia will be more expensive.

Both locations are very nice... IMO, if I had to choose I would go to El Calafate... also because of the time of the year you have chosen to travel.

Cheers,

Alex
