EZE Airport - ATM, Bank Location & ATM Limits

From DE for BA on 17 August 2008.... "At the international arrival area, there is an ATM to your left as you exit the sliding door near the cafe. I have never run into a line at that ATM. Yes, it's a good idea to get 290 pesos for the smaller bills."

We would appreciate an update on obtaining Arg$ on arrival at EZE....

Is the ATM at EZE Airport still located 'as you exit the sliding door near the cafe'? Is it still only one ATM?

The 24/7 bank at EZE... is that a Banco de la Nacion branch? Where is that branch located? Is there a 2nd Banco de la Nacion branch just outside baggage claim?

Is the Arg$ 300 ATM limit still common nowdays?

Thank you for all your help.

-----

Yes, the 24/7 bank at EZE is a Banco de la Nacion branch....There is one branch with two access points, one inside of the customs area and one outside of customs. Access to the second entrance is from within the arrival hall. I rarely use this entrance, preferring the additional security offered within the customs area. Pick up your bags, clear customs and when you pick up your bags from screening you will see the bank teller windows off to the side.

notes:

1. There is no ATM for Banco de la Nacion inside the customs area....you will need to exit customs and double back toward the bank. The ATM is located just outside the lobby entrance.

2. While 24/7 banking is available...Banco de la Nacion sometimes closes for brief periods of time. When Banco de la Nacion is closed, Piano Bank is open.....Piano Bank offers exchange rates a few cents lower than Banco de la Nacion....but they are roughly comparable. The key is to avoid the exchange kiosks offered by Global, where exchanged rates are pathetic.

3. Another useful tidbit: Check exchange rates on www.dolarhoy.com before you depart...This will give you an idea re: what is and is not a good rate of exchange.

The limit per transaction is around 1000pesos which incurs a fee of around 16 pesos. However, you can reinsert your card and continue to make another withdrawal for another 1000pesos. You can continue with this procedure until you reach your home bank daily limit of withdrawals.

The Banco de la Nacion is located just after the customs area. Donot use the money exchanges in the luggage area.

Some USA carriers flights are arriving at both Terminal A and Terminal B.

While the terminals are different, the services after the customs area are basically the same. You'll still find Banco de la Nacion, the remise companies and the TAXIEZE kiosks.

There is an ATM(s) in both terminals and located in the same area near the MEETING POINT sign. Look up after exiting customs.

There was a Citibank ATM on Libertador near Salgueiro that offered up to 2500 pesos in 1 transaction with fee capped at $4 (17 pesos). Not sure if still operable.

we used an HSBC atm at the airport outside of customs just before you exit the terminal (on the left) - it had a large queue and the limit was 1,000 peso with a 17peso fee. I noticed there was also a Citibank atm

Thanks for the hint about airport taxi. I just booked it for our trip to Antarctica which we have to do an overnight in BA because of connections to Ushuia.

8. Re: EZE Airport - ATM, Bank Location & ATM Limits

goairporttaxi.com charges a minimum of $59. for a taxi from the airport to the city ... is that comparable to the rate if arranging a taxi on arrival at the airport?

Thx.

U$59 is considerably more than the cost of a taxi from EZE to the city. Taxi Ezeiza charges $180 pesos, or between US35-40, depending on the rate of exchange at the moment. Warning: Don't even think about taking a taxi from the curb at Ezeiza. Use the blue=white stand from taxi ezeiza or take one of the private cars from other booths. Private cars charge slightly more than Taxi Ezeiza, but still way less than 59 dollars.
