Spanish courses Buenos Aires - Expanish or Vamos

Hi, I'm coming to Buenos Aires next month to learn Spanish for 4 or 5 weeks, want to do an intensive 20 or 30 hour a week course and also looking for a school with a good location and good social scene so it's easy to meet people. But also want the teaching to be high-quality and to be taken seriously. I've so far narrowed it down to Expanish or Vamos, I can't decide which one! Can anyone recommend one over the other? Thanks!

Julien,

Not sure what level of spanish you're at but if you want to get a jump start checkout duolingo.com.

I've been using it for about 5 months and I've been real happy with the results. My comprehension and comfort have gone way up. It might get you in the mood before you start your immersion.

Enjoy!

I have studied at Expanish. I really enjoyed the courses and especially the teachers. The school is well organized so I would definnetly recommend it. Regarding the choice between 20 and 30. I have done the 20 course. I think you should consider what your goal is. In case your goal is to learn Spanish as quick as possible you should go for the 30, in case you want to have some more time to explore Buenos Aires you should go for th 20. Hope it helps

Vamos has the neighborhood advantage being on the edge of Palermo. I used to live 5 blocks from there and am partial to that section of town. The place is generally more relaxed and has a mixed bag of students.

Expanish is a bit more formal, very nice new school and tend to cater to exchange students. Their Centro location is easy to get to from about anywhere in the city.

juljen, i am investigating the same matter now. There are three schools recommended to me by the ex-students. But I have not my own experience yet. It seems very interesting to study part of time in BA and another part in other Argentinan cities (even Ushuaya) or in Uruguay.
