I went last year for a couple of days, and really enjoyed it -- and I can't dance one step! If you have any interest at all in tango or would like to experience an essential part of Argentine culture, this festival is truly worthwhile -- entrance to the events is free, and the lines move quickly to enter most of the concerts and shows. I had some nice conversations with folks while standing in line, and the young people selling T-shirts and other festival souvenirs were lovely. The Mundial brings in some amazing musicians and dancers from Europe and Latin America. As an architecture buff, I also loved the Usina del Arte, a gorgeous old factory building converted into an arts center. Several of the dances I saw were innovative, combining traditional tango with contemporary dance; there's also a traditional milonga each day in which anyone can participate.

Last year the festival concluded with a concert by Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic playing an open-air concert on the bridge near the birthplace of Argentine tango -- bringing tango to the streets and the people.

The print materials are in Spanish and English, and the website seems easier to use this year. I hope to spend at least a few days seeing extraordinary tango!

Springbyker, thank you for telling us about the dancing and music. How I wish I could attend this year's festival.
