Cusco to Iguazu Falls?

Hello everyone,

Trying to plan a trip where after going to Macchu Pichu, we'd like to go straight to the falls. Is there an easy or affordable way there?

Easy and affordable are two words which do not describe airtravel in South America. You don't have the number of airlines which you see in other area of the world so hence high airfares and limited routes.

Have a look at www.expedia.com which will offer the possiblities for this route. This trip will require connections in hubs in Argentina,Chile, or Brazil in order to complete. If you have the travel time, then you might want to visit one of these connection hubs as you make your way between these two locations.

Have fun with your holiday planning.

Not saying it's the cheapest way but this is how we did it.

Cusco to Lake Titicaca on the train. Say overnight. Next day to La Paz by road.

Overnight.

Fly to Buenos Aires (Via Sucre). Overnight in BA .

Next day fly to Iguazu.

The easiest way to reach the falls from Cuzco is flying LAN.

No direct flights from Cuzco to the Falls, but connecting in Lima.

At the present time LAN flies between Lima and the city of Foz do Iguacu (on the Brazilian side of the border) four times a week, sadly after the Argentinian authorities didn't grant them the route to the Argentinian town of Puerto Iguazú.

The best possible connection is leaving Cuzco at 10.10, arriving in Lima at 11.35. After a layover of 1 hour and 55 minutes you can take a flight to Foz do Iguacu, leaving at 13.30 and scheduled to land at 19.25 (local time in all cases). That connection is available on Tue., Wed., Fri. and Sun.

I didn't look at the fares, but you can check by yourself at www.lan.com. Be sure to plan your itinerary using "Foz do Iguacu" as your destination, because if you choose "Iguazú" they will route you to the town of Puerto Iguazú and the itinerary will be much longer with no less than three legs.
