family friendly dining

We wuold like to find a restaurant where we wont feel like we wasted our time and money.

when you have a family of seven it is not so easy to find a good restaurant with good food and great prices. Am I asking for too much? We will be visiting AZ very soon hope to get a good recomendation.

it is probably the same in Mesa AZ as it is in your hometown...check out the chain restaurants and request a children's menu. Applebee's is all over the valley, has a great happy hour menu, very inexpensive food and a decent children's menu as well. A legendary restaurant in Mesa is The Landmark. Their $14 salad bar takes up an entire room and is more like a buffet than a salad bar. Not sure if they offer a children's portion or not, but it is awesome. Old Country Buffet is another one that has plenty of food and includes beverage and dessert in your meal price.

As AZfan said, there are the usual chain restaurants in Mesa. We, like you, dined out with a large group when we were in town. The following places were very accomodating to our group: Texas Roadhouse, Mimi's Cafe, and Red Lobster (on Alma School Road). In addition to adults, we had one-year old twins in our group and each of these restaurants was more than willing to provide high chairs. Also, Top Shelf has good Mexican food. When we dined there, we didn't have the little ones with us but did see other families there.

And, AZfan--thanks for the recommendation for Landmark. We'll keep it in mind for our next visit!

Mimi's Cafe is the best bet! Great selection for everybody. Great with kids. Reasonable prices. Kid's menu. REAL strawberry lemonade freshly made which the kids will love.

There was an article in the East Valley Tribune this morning about Vito's Pizza in Mesa as being an especially family friendly site. See vitospizza.com.

Hello everyone, I hope you enjoyed Mesa while you were here. We have several family friendly restaurants and I would suggest going online to www.visitmesa.com it can give you information about food, lodging, attractions, etc... You can also call the Mesa Visitors Bureau to ask any questions about the area.
