Rain in El Calafate

Hi all,

We are scheduled to be in El Calafate this weekend and arrive in the Morning on Saturday. We are scheduled for the Perito Moreno hike on Sunday but it looks like there will be heavy rain.

Should we change our hike to Monday? Or just do a half day tour on Saturday to avoid the rain?

After spending so much money to get there I would like there to be at least good viewings. :(

Thanks for your help.

If there is a chance of better weather on a different date make the change. We had phenomenal views and weather the day we were there (trips had been canceled two days before). It started as gray and miserable in the morning but by 11am as we were getting on the glacier.. the skies opened up and the view is unspeakably beautiful.

Here is the view we had of the Glacier from the walkways:

According to Accuweather, it will rain on Sunday and Sunday only.

Both Saturday and Monday should be rain-free.

Hi TxWanderer,

What did you end up doing? We are running into the same problem for our trip this week and want to know if it is still worth it to see the glacier in the rain. Thanks!
