Kiteboarding/Kitesurfing In Western Samoa

Are there any outfits that provide kiteboarding instruction in Western Samoa?

Are there any areas that are good for kiteboarding?

Thanks.

Hi there

I've never seen anybody doing this in Samoa ... but that doesn't mean they don't do it!! I would contact the guys off this website ... http://www.moanaleidivensurf.com - Danny or Stefan, and ask them. They are the local dive guys at Lalomanu Beach on 'Upolu. They will know for sure.

On Savai'i, you can contact Fabian and Flavia, who run the dive place there. This is their website http://www.divesavaii.com/samoa.html

I am sure that either one of these two operators will be able to give you some information, if no one else posts anything here that might help.

I hope this is of some help to you!

On the topic of Kitesurfing; does anyone know how windy it gets aournd the Taufua Beach Fales? Do the south east trades blow regularly during July / August? or what is the dominant wind strength and direction during this time?

Hi Andrea

It's a bit hard to say, really. Last year the trades were a bit early, and it was a bit blowy in early September, just before we left, but it depends on the year I think! Last year was also not as hot as the previous year. You just have to take your chances!

Cheers
