Peoria traffic

I'm considering moving to Peoria. Does anyone know is the traffic - off the main roads like Grand Ave. still crazy? People tell me it's like Los Angeles traffic there. I'm wondering, however, how it is once off the main drags - and how it is where the actual houses are. Thanks! Patty Peasmailbox@aol.com

It really depends where you'd be living in Peoria, where you'd be working, and when you'd need to get to work. During rush hour, the major streets are very heavy, freeways can easily seem like parking lots.

It has been a long time since I've lived on the West side of town, but I hear traffic reports and I-10, I-17, and the 101 are usually very busy during rush hour. Not quite up to LA standards yet though.

I workout before I go to work, close to my office. There is far less traffic at 5:30am than at 7, so I get there in 20 minutes, and then it is a quick 5-10 minute drive to my office, and I feel like I've actually accomplished something.

Bell Road is awful. The city I think is great with new homes and nice shopping centers and stores. I think there is a poster who lives in the area, I'm sure he will reply.
