Is Phoenix, Arizona is a good place for Families with teenagers to visit?
If so, how long is ideal for a visit, and how much does it cost?
Is New York good for families? Is Philadelphia good for families? is Miami good for families?
Phoenix is a huge city in the desert in Arizona. It's the state capital and it's a business and vacation destination for millions of residents and visitors.
There's something for just about everybody in PHX and the surrounding area. The state of Arizona is a fantastic family vacation destination.
Tell us more about what you and your family want and expect in a family vacation and we can tell you where to find it in Arizona. It costs whatever you can budget. gGive us some specifics about you and ask more specific questions
It depends. If you can provide more specific information about your interests, length of stay, time of your visit and your budget, we can try to point you in the right direction. You can also find a lot of information under “things to do” tab to get some ideas.
Interests, time of year and budget would be helpful. The State of Arizona has muuuuuch to offer, the only thing we don't have is an ocean!
Time of year also would be an issue.
Tet, please see post #3! ;)
I was planning to go to the Grand Canyon next year My grandson will be going he will be17 years old .Do you think this is something teen would like? Anything else he could do while there? Our funds are not very tight so we have some money to play with any suggestions would be appreciated. Also what is the best hotel or resort to stay at for the best view of the canyon?
Charleyne, you may be best to start your own thread...
Quick and short answers are it really depends on the adolescent. It is extremely impressive, best hotel is El Tovar, which does get booked up waaaay in advance. As for activities, a helicopter tour would surely be cool for a teenager. 2 days would be plenty unless you want to do some hiking, especially with a teenager!
Phoenix is a very family oriented destination with various venues of entertainment for every age group. There are accommodations to fit every budget. The winter time is more expensive since that is our high season when we attract people from all over the country escaping their cold weather. Come for a visit and enjoy our beautiful state.
I'd definitely ask your grandson first, but I would think YES! The Grand Canyon is AMAZING. Plan on staying overnight, as another poster mentioned. We stayed at one of the smaller hotels as we couldn't get into El Tovar and were very happy. Had a room with a canyon view. Did the sunset bus tour, also made sure to get up early to see the sunrise across the canyon. Your grandson is also sure to be wowed by the helicopter tour. Make reservations in advance.
