Baseball tickets

Planning a visit to Scottsdale/Phoenix in April and note that there are a few games scheduled including college baseball. How does one go about getting tickets? Would concierge at our hotel be able to get for us on arrival in Arizona or do we need to buy well in advance? Thanks

If you're talking Major League Baseball (D-backs), check their website, STUBHUB. I would never pay a premium for tickets (not to mention a good tip to the concierge). It just isnt necessary.

As to college baseball....no clue, except contact the college and ask them.

Here's a link for ASU baseball website:

The Diamondbacks also have a website you can buy tickets on. Attendance has been down so you should have no problem getting tickets. In addition, there is really not a bad seat in Chase Field. I have sat in all areas and had a good view of the field.

In addition to ASU, which generally fields an excellent baseball team, there is Grand Canyon College, a private school. It also has baseball and has produced a number of major league players. ASU is in Tempe, and Grand Canyon is in northwest Phoenix.

There would be no need to buy tickets in advance for a college game. Just buy them at the gate.

If you buy for the Dianondbacks there should be an option to get them at "will call". So you would pay ahead online and pick the tickets up when you arrive at the field.

The concierge could certainly get tickets for you if that is what you prefer.

Here we go again. While the games do not typically sell out (and you indeed should not have problems with tickets) attendance last year was UP over 2011 which was UP over 2010. Attendance is actually up, not down.

Single game tickets are not available yet. They typically go on sale in early March. Once we season ticketholders get our tickets (later in March) there is a second option on dbacks.com where tickets that aren't being used by season ticketholders are sold, usually at a discount. That one is normally called "ticket marketplace" or something like that. That is typically were the best deals can be found.

Rarely does the baseball team sell out. In fact, game day, you might be able to purchase very good seats at the ticket office.
