Best Southwest or Mexican dining in Scottsdale?

For either Southwest dining, or Mexican cusine, where is the place to be in Scottsdale?

To add, if there's better southwest or Mexican restaurants elsewhere in the Phoenix or greater Phoenix area, where to you recommend?

We like the food and funky atmosphere at the Barrio Cafe on 16th St in PHX. The reviews at TA are mixed, but it is a place we like to go back to. We have friends who swear by Z Tejas although I haven't tried it. These are both Mexican to be sure.

For fine southwest dining our favorite place is Lon's at the Hermosa Inn in Paradise Valley.

There are dozens more great options. You won't be able to try or compare them all.

Most people will suggest Barrio Cafe in Phoenix for Mexican cuisine. I also like Los Sombreros in Scottsdale.

There are many, many good Mexican restaurants in town from little hole-in-the-walls to more upscale.

Agree with other posters: Barrio Cafe in Phoenix is our favorite Mexican food establisment (not in Scottsdale and about 1/2 hr drive).
