Hermosa Inn

After spending a few day in Vegas is the Hermosa Inn the right place to sit back and rewind? Have stayed at the Phoenician and the Biltmore but wanted somewhere less busy.

The Hermosa Inn is wonderful, but is very small. I'd consider Royal Palms or Four Seasons for something with a bit more variety with lots of pampering service.

Yes. They are direct opposites and highly recommended to bring "healing" after a stay in Vegas.

I agree with aztchr

If you have your heart set on the Hermosa inn and want quiet and relaxation in a small boutique hotel then you've made the right choice.

We love the Hermosa Inn. They recently renovated most of their rooms, and they're gorgeous. The on-site restaurant, Lon's, is excellent as well. If you can get a package that includes dinner at Lon's, it's definitely worth it.

That said, here's what you might want to know about Lon's. It's extremely quiet there, which is great, but it also means that it doesn't have quite the same level of service as the Royal Palms or the FS, as aztchr mentioned above. We love sitting out at the pool in one of the cabanas - very comfortable lounge chairs with thick pads. However, it is a very small pool, much like you'd see in someone's backyard. There is no permanent pool "restaurant" or snack bar; however, they will bring you whatever you like from inside the restaurant, but you do have to ask - it's not as if servers wander around the pool area all the time. (Once they know you're there, though, they're excellent about coming back often to check on you.)

I don't say all that as a negative - that's actually what we like about the Hermosa. It's very low key and relaxing, and there's NEVER any kids in the pool. (That's a plus for us!) I just wanted to set expectations. They've also talked about doing more with the pool area, but so far nothing has changed, except they re-did a bit of the landscaping, which looks nice.

If you are looking for more in the way of constant service and pampering, then either the RP or the FS is the way to go. The RP has a very similar feel to the Hermosa, it's just slightly bigger, and the landscaping is more Mediterranean instead of desert landscaping. And the FS is, well, the FS! Excellent poolside service, the servers are always around giving out complimentary poolside "treats", etc. But, it's also more crowded and not as quiet, especially during the busy season. Either way, enjoy your vacation!
