Scottsdale for 2 weeks

We are 4 adults (2 couples) in our 60's. We have never been to Scottsdale and will probably go for 2 weeks at the end of Feb/beginning of March 2014. I know it is late to start looking for a condo but that is the way it is. Sedona and the Grand Canyon look within driving distance (maybe an overnight). What is the normal weather like in February/March to get to these two areas?

Also, any recommendations for condos or 2 week rentals would be appreciated. Have looked at listings at Sunscape. I looks like these might be in walking distance of the Old Town.

You are so lucky to have the luxury of two weeks in Scottsdale when it will have the best weather of any place in the world. You will find it is still brisk in Sedona and the GGNP, but each is worth at least a night and a day. Watch the sunset and sunrise in the canyon for its full effect. Don't know if you are into hiking , but that is what you will get in spades in Sedona.

Don't miss the Spring Training games in all the baseball parks around the Valley. In addition, you have time to easily see the authentic old west towns of Wickenburg and Prescott while you are there. I suggest you try to schedule it so you can spend a Saturday night in Prescott to check out all the action on the original "Whiskey Row" with its swinging door saloons and real cowboys dancing with their fillies to live music.

Sunscape is roughly a half mile from Old Town Scottsdale. There is a free trolley that runs through Old Town and Downtown from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There may also be a trolley that runs nearby that goes to Old Town.

Sunscape is also is on the greenbelt, which provides great walking paths both north and south and is handy to two shopping malls. Do not know what the condos are like, but from the street they make an interesting looking complex.

Weather should be fine, but if you head off to either Grand Canyon or Sedona check weather forecasts because both are high in the mountains and had get storms.

Lucky you. Two weeks to escape the WI winter is a dream for most folks. And it allows plenty of time for a side trip to the Grand Canyon National Park and Sedona. Ideally, you'll want to spend a night at both places. Call Xanterra to get rooms at the GC, or use their website. www.grandcanyonlodges.com Sedona has lodging for every style and budget. Use the hotel links from the Sedona pages. You'll most likely start making plans to return some day.

With all this time, you can easily break up your trip and plan on a few nights outside of Scottsdale. Look at the easy drive up to Wickenburg for a night, then on to Prescott. From there on to Sedona, and then up the magnificent Oak Creek Canyon for a night at GCNP. If you find a place that really takes your heart away, go back for a night or two. You have the time! Lucky you.

Happy Trails!!!
