Staying at Gainey Suites - few questions!

I will be staying at the Gainey Suites this month and was wondering if it is warm enough to swim in the pools this time of year? Also are there good restaurants/shopping nearby? I wont have a car so will be walking or taking the hotel shuttle that goes within 5 miles of the hotel. Thanks!

The pool is well heated, but if the air temps are chilly you might be a bit uncomfortable getting out. Head for the jacuzzi if warming is needed! Just west is Gainey Village Shops for dining (Village Tavern for happy hour or full meals, Paradise Bakery for coffees, muffins, light meals) and some boutique shops. Wally's is a great pub, popular with locals. The Hyatt is up the road, lovely garden/water areas, beautiful place for a drink outdoors. Take a look on the satellite view of Google maps and you will see the lay of the land.

Shuttle will take you to the Gainey Village (as noted above) which is a mile away and has at least 6 restaurants, including 3 new ones. I did not like the new Italian place there, FYI. Village Tavern is always great, but busy. Pool should be heated; has been previous winters. They can also take you to the plaza on the southeast corner of Scottsdale and Shea which has Oreganos, NYPD, and many other places to eat and shop.
