Golf ideast

We are four ladies coming in April and singly focused on golf. We want to make the most of our trip and are looking for golf course recommendations.

Give us a few details about your playing level and most important, budget. There are well over 200 golf courses in the Valley. Many are at resorts where you can book everything from rooms to meals to lessons and tee times. It's all a matter of what you can afford.

If you're on a tight budget then you might want to be looking at less expensive no frills lodging and value oriented municipal/public courses where coupons and last minute tee times can save you money.

Our family of 3 has just returned home from a 12 day golf vacation marathon ( most days 27 holes ) We chose to stay at the WigWam Golf resort in the West Valley, at Litchfield Park. Its no more than 1/2 hour drive from Phoenix Sky Harbour airport. The resort offers 3 distinctive golf courses at VERY reasonable rates when compared to the rather pricy offerings in the Scottsdale area. Rental car is a must at this location. There are 3-4 interesting courses within 15 minute drive of the WigWam, should you wish to play off the Wig Wam site. On this trip we chose the "Raven at Verrado", which has amazing golf, reasonable prices, fantastic view of the valley. Check out the Wig Wam Golf resort on this site for precise details. I'm told by knowledgable locals that Copper Canyon is another course to try if you are staying in the West valley
