which boutique hotel/spa for relaxing "ladies getaway" -

I'm planning on meeting my 3 best friends in the Phoneix/Scotsdale area for a relaxing rendevous. One of my friends is pregnant and we're just looking for a place that's nice, tasteful, quiet, has a pool, lovely scenery, opportunity to hike, etc. Golf and shopping are NOT important to us. we're going to cram 4 of us into a room, hoping to spend less than $350/night for the room. i've been interested in 3 Palms, and love the feel of The Boulders, but it looks like it's out of our price range.

any suggestions would be great. thanks so much!

When are you planning this? Rates will be significantly less in June than March. Are you willing to look beyond Scottsdale, maybe somewhere in Phoenix a few miles away? What is the max you are willing to spend?

I've seen some really good deals on the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak recently, in the $160/night for mid-Feb. It is a good location, but I've never stayed there, but have eaten and been to events there, the grounds look nice.

We have to go in early march, before my friend has her baby, in late May.

we're willing to spend up to $350/night/room that would sleep 4 of us (2 double beds) and yes we're certainly open to phoenix, as long as it isn't an urban setting. we're flying into Phoenix so anywhere in the area would be fine.

thanks for your help!

Check out Copperwynd in Fountain Hills. It is beautiful, new, has great views, and is in a quiet town about 8 miles from Scottsdale, perfect for relaxing. There are some nice hikes surrounding Fountain Hills, it has a fantastic spa, and if you like to gamble there is a casino 10 minutes away at Fort McDowell, which does have a nonsmoking section now for your pregnant friend. They have last minute call in deals on rooms.

I posted just a short time ago in reply about CopperWynd. I am not a huge fan of it, and I am actually a member of the Club there.

Here is a link I posted to spas in Arizona that is from MSNBC.com travel section.

March is an expensive time to visit, but if that is your only option, which seems to be the case, then just shop around and see if you can get any specials.

Be sure you check that the location has two beds in the room, as many spa/boutique type places have king beds only.

Hope this helps ...

CopperWynd only has one kind of room, with one king bed, and I'm nearly positive that it's out of your price range in early March.

But, if Fountain Hills works for you (it's northeast of Phoenix and Scottsdale, so further from the airport and all the advantages of their restaurants, etc., but smaller and calmer), then try Inn at Eagle Mountain. Their rooms are much bigger than CopperWynd's, they have both dual queen rooms and suites. It's nice and spread out and has a great view. There's hiking in the McDowells near town that's not terribly strenuous.

If you are looking for a maternity spa treatment, the Marriott Camelback Inn spa has one, with a lovely pool, restaurant right in the spa area, just for adults so you will find quiet and their claims of tranquility are true.
