Grocery Stores in Sedona

Our family will soon be spending a month in Sedona and are curious as to any recommendations for grocery stores. We will need all the basic supplies for a month for the 3 of us.

Thanks

We shopped at Safeway a lot when we were there. They have a "Club Card" sort of thing and we got that and ended up saving a ton of money.

There are 4 full service grocery stores that serve Sedona. As mentioned Safeway is in West Sedona, and so is Bashas. Both stores offer savings by using their 'member' cards. You can get a card at the service desk in the front of the store. Also in West Sedona is New Frontiers. Their specialty is on more natural food products and health food style marketing, but they are a full service store, In the Village of Oakcreek (VOC) you'll find Weber's IGA. All of these stores have delis and fresh produce and everything you would expect to find in a full service grocery store. In addition, Safeway, Bashas and IGA all have full stocks of wine and liquor.

The next major town to the south on 89A is Cottonwood. In Cottonwood you will also find grocery options at Fry's, Food City and Walmart

I always shop at Basha's when in Sedona and at the IGA if we have to do any shopping in VOC. We always try to patronize locally-owned stores before nationwide chain stores. In this tough economy, Basha's has had to close several stores statewide, including the one I shopped at in Tucson. So please help our local businesses.

Thanks for your replys,

The info is really appreciated. I had meant to ask another question and will do so now. What local restaurants might you recommend to us? We are not into fancy and expensive restaurants. By the way we will be staying at the Canyon Mesa Condos in Village Oak Creek.

Thanks again

Elote Cafe is the best by far for unique southwest and Mexican fare. Nothing in Sedona is fancy. Locals love the places that we are proud to share with visitors. Go to The Cowboy Club, Cucina Rustica, and the Hideaway. Favorite local spot for breakfast is the CoffeePot, and for take out lunches try Sedona Memories or the deli at Indian Gardens in Oak Creek Canyon.

Cucina Rustica $& Fork in the Road are the top one's in VOC.

Market Place and Desert Flour bakery casual food, we also have Thai. Chinese and sushi, plus coffee shops and golf course fare at OCC.

For groceries there is also a Farmer's market at the airport every Sunday for local produce go early 12-4p.m.
