Read the itineraries on the right hand side of the Sedona forum page. One day is barely enough time to see much of Sedona, but you can catch a few highlights and get a feel for the environment. Don't miss the Chapel of the Holy Cross, and avoid Uptown other than picking up a jeep tour.
I just returned from Sedona, we were there for a few days, but I can recommend the Trolly Tour, just $12.00 for a 1 hour tour of the area and the red rocks. Take tour 2.
Also the drive in to town along RT. 179 will give you a great view of the area. The downtown area is filled with shops, and restaurants. We ate lunch at the historic Cowboy Club restaurant downtown, with the bronze horse in front of it. The food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable.
Well, we're back from Arizona.
Sedona is like no place on Earth. Truly amazing.
We began with the drive from Flagstaff to Sedona on 89A. This has to be one of the most spectacular drives anywhere. Just incredible, even breathtaking.
We did the Trolley tour which was okay (Our tour guide didn't seem too into it).
We also did the Star Gazing Tour by Evening Sky Tours which was absolutely fantastic. I cannot recommend this enough.
We walked the town and ate at the Cowboy Club which was a lot of fun.
We also spent some time at the Chapel of the Holy Cross which was a very beautiful and spiritual place.
Sedona should be on everyone's list. A truly incredible place.Edited: 10 November 2010, 16:20
