Hotels near Phoenix airport

We are booked at Sadona Springs Resort form June 11-18. However-our flight on the 18th is at 9 a.m. and we are 2 hours away from the airport. We are now thinking of checking out on Friday afternoon and getting a hotel room close to the airport so we don't have to get up at 3 in the morning. Can any one give me any tips on this situation? Thanks!

That is what I would do. You would have to leave really early in case of a flat or other emergency with the car, you never know. Also you may be driving some in the dark (not sure about sunrise when you will be there).

There are many suitable hotels near the airport. In To avoid dealing with returning a rental car in the morning, several have shuttles. You could return your rental car Friday evening, and use the shuttle to the airport in the morning. Here are several from which to choose: Hilton Airport, Crowne Plaza, Doubletree Guest Suites, Sleep Inn. All except the Sleep Inn, likely the least expensive, all have restaurants, but the Sleep Inn is just across the street from the Hilton. The Crown Plaza and Doubletree have additional advantage of being on or close to the light rail which would offer you the ability to go to downtown Phoenix or Tempe for dining.

We stayed at the Arizona Grand which is pretty close to the airport but we stayed more for the waterpark than anything else. It is a beautiful hotel.

We just returned from Sedona and also had an early flight. We chose the Holiday Inn Express at the airport. It is new and has a restaurant on site. It was a 5 minute drive in the morning. Looking back it would have been easier to drop our car the nite before as the rental return is off site from the airport. We left the hotel 2 hrs before our flight and had no problems returning the car and being on time for our flight.

Thanks for the helpful information. Is there a shuttle from the rental office to the airport? I think I will look into the Holiday Inn Express as well. Thanks again!

Sleep Inn is also close. They have a shuttle to the airport, but no restaurant. They do have breakfast.

The rental car pickup and return is very easy and there's one shuttle to all companies.

Twice we've crashed at the LaQuinta on 48th st. just a couple of miles from Sky Harbor Airport. They have a shuttle, and it is cheap--only like $64-$69 per night. Very clean and quiet -- we would not have stayed there a second time if it wasn't.

They have a continental breakfast in the morning, and a Denny's right next door is open 24/7. (I know, it is a Denny's--but hey, you know what you're getting). We ate dinner there both nights at around 8-9pm after driving in from Sedona.

If you are wanting to stay in Sedona all day and just crash in Phoenix before flying out in the AM, it is a good inexpensive choice.
