Sedona Skies after a storm

We drove to Sedona today just to stay overnight. We always like to see the Red Rock Fantasy. Unfortunately, this was the only day we could fit it in our schedule. Then came the rain. We left Fountain Hills about 1pm and it had just finished pouring. We saw a beautiful rainbow still in town. As we headed north, the skies were awesome. We stopped at the Ranger Station to pick up a holder for our pass and from there in to our hotel the skies were awesome. I have pictures all taken from our car with the exception of one at the Ranger Station.

We went to see the lights tonight and most of the displays were dark due to the rain. We walked around anyway and enjoyed what we could see.

Thanks for the great pictures!

Come back another time and spend a few days! There are great specials to be had in December which is when the festival of lights is going on!

Thanks for posting. It was a beautiful, although somewhat drizzly day yesterday. There were rainbows all over the place.

Great photos; thanks for sharing. We had similar weather on our one night stay over in Sedona last month. The we had blue skies we when arrived, but is clouded over as the day progressed. Made for a great contrast and some interesting clouds hanging over the red rocks. We had a couple rainbows as well.

That's one of the things that amazes us about Sedona. The sky is always changing and you never know what to expect. It makes for wonderful photo ops, although I think the photographers who get the really cool shots know the right timing, such as sunrise, sunset, and even full moon.

We were lucky one November to find snow on the rocks up on West Fork and got some good shots, but haven't seen any since.
