Breakfast in the B & B's

I've read posts raving about breakfast at these B & B's and wondered what was the typical breakfast? I emailed a few posters in the B & B list but haven't received any answers to my inquiry.. Thanks in advance.. visiting in the spring 2011..

It's completely dependent on the individual B&B, and the selection varies, so the best thing you can do is contact the B&B that you're interested in, and ask them what they serve. Many places can also accomodate vegeterian and food allergies.

But, to also give you an idea of the various breakfast items, the Inn on Oak Creek does 3 courses. They usually start with yogurt and their homemade granola (delicious!) with fresh fruit, then there is a hot entree that varies each day (omelette, quiche, pancakes, etc.), and then a third course of a homemade baked good, or another delicious fruit item, etc.

Here is a link to another example; Canyon Villa B&Bs website, with their recipe page:

Basically, at many of the upscale B&Bs in Sedona, you'll find homemade bakery items, fresh fruits, and something hot that is made-to-order (as opposed to buffet style), and of course hot coffee and tea. Some of them also do afternoon hors d'hoeuvres; again, ask the B&B directly.

We had a wonderful breakfast at Grace's Secret Garden last year in Sedona and it was much like Hummingbird described. In fact, Grace told us that she belongs to a B&B group there in Sedona and they have published a calendar featuring the various B&B's and all of them include a recipe from one of their breakfasts. Our favorite breakfast at Grace's was French Toast made from a croissant and smothered in blueberries.

There is no "typical" breakfast. You should contact the B&B directly to find out more about their breakfast.

We have had some wonderfull breakfasts at Boots and Saddles. They too serve a three course gourmet beakfast...one day sweet and one day savory. I am not a big breakfast food type eater...and I love their breakfasts!
