Get off the train in Flagstaff instead. They'll have rental cars there.

You need to make a reservation. Hertz, Avis and Enterprise are at or near the Flagstaff train station. But the hours are 8-5 during the week, and not sure what they are on weekends. You may have to call and pre-arrange pickup.

Just to clarify. Are you arriving at Williams AZ or Williams Station? These are two very different places.

We were confused by this also.We would be coming in via Amtrak and it also gave two different places that were 10 miles apart and did not explain the differences. Our plan was to rent a car and travel to The Grand Canyon,Sedona, etc for a week then head back home on the train. It does make sense then to go to Flagstaff if there are more accommodations.Thank you for the info, because we would probably be arriving in the evening and don't want to be stranded at the train station.

Amtrak stops at Williams Junction, a few miles from downtown Williams, but there are no services or car rental there. Amtrak bypasses Williams, and the Grand Canyon RR operates from the old Williams train station.

You want to get off the train in Flagstaff in order to rent a car. If you are coming from the east, the train arrives at 9:51 PM. The rental car offices will not be open either downtown Flagstaff or at the Flagstaff airport. You would need to pick up your rental car the next morning. If on a weekend, you will need to make sure whatever car rental office is open.

For GCNP, you want to get lodging in the park. 1 or 2 nights there is sufficient.

Not sure yet when we will be going most likely in June. So can we get a taxi to a motel from the flagstaff rr station then get the rental car the next day? Thank you so much for the help!

There are normally taxis when the train arrives. There are hotels close by depending on your preferences.
