driving to Slane from Kenmare

Hi we have a day to drive from Kenmare to Slane which we are slightly worried about. This will be next weekend (Sunday).

Can anyone recommend a good route and als give us a rough idea of time?

Thanks in advance

The route is fairly straightforward - you can go via Killarney to Cahir and then via the M8/M7 to Dublin where to take the M50 around the city onto the N/M2 to Slane. Distance is about 240 miles and drive time is about 4.5 hours , not allowing for stops.

I agree with the route suggested, but think 4.5 hours is a bit optimistic

You will need to pre-purchase or post-purchase an e- toll for the Liffey Bridge on the M50 which is operated by numberplate recognition. Can do online before or within 24 hr after

Alternatively you could avoid the M50 (suggestion) and head towards Trim -Navan-Slane. You can do this off the M7 at Naas and head for Clane, Maynooth and Kilcock. Might take you a little longer taking in the historic sights but worthwhile in my opinion.
