Parking and eating in lyme Regis

Hi, we will be coming to lyme Regis en-route to weymouth on 23rd July, hoping to catch the red arrows display. Can anybody suggest where we should head to for car parking and reccomend a pub or cafe for reasonably priced decent food. Also if the pub was situated so we could get a view of the red arrows from there before continuing our journey it would be a bounus.

Head for the main car park (well signposted from main road into Lyme, assuming you are coming from Eastern direction), and walk down to the Cob. There are 3 or 4 decent pubs immediately at your disposal, and as you are on the sea front, views guaranteed.

Enjoy.

PS you may find Weymouth a little disappointing though once you have sampled Lyme Regis....

Hi we've just returned from a week in the area and went into Lyme Regis twice and as the previous poster has said there is a main car park on the way in, however there are loads more parking areas and we found the carpark outside the police station to be less crowded than the one at the top of town.. it is a bit more expensive if you're wanting long stay as I think it's a short stay one but it's closer to the sea. We ate in The Good Food Store.. ok if you want a toasted sandwich or panini type food and they do great pasties! Hope you enjoy your stay Lyme is a lovely town with loads to do and plenty of eateries!

My experience of parking in Lyme Regis is wherever you park, getting back to your car is like climbing the north face of the Eiger! The only exception is the little car park right on the sea front, but it only has about 6 spaces so I've never parked there.

Not a pub but By the Bay Cafe does fantastic cream teas.

there is also a pay and display near the Cobb which you can often get in - particularly if you lurk around waiting for people to leave!

There are quite a few cafes near here.

Hi, Just returned from our ten days in Devon and Dorset.

Lyme Regis was fab, parked at the top of a very big hill at the Cobb end, we were exhausted walking back up to it.
