Diving?

Does anyone have any tips on the scuba diving, such as reputable dive schools, good deals etc. ?pre-book or book there?

One of the oldest schools in Margarita is Aquanauts Diving.

They are authorized PADI instructors.

You can see more information at casatrudel.com/scuba-diving-snorkeling.htm .

You can also do a Google search for - scuba diving margarita island

Most scuba takes place a the offshore islands of Los Frailes where in addition to your diving activities you can see thousands of birds & maybe dolphins or whales.

If you are coming during the busier times like Christmas/New Year's, Carnaval or Semana Santa (Easter Week) be sure to book in advance.

I'm PADI certified, how deep and/or what stuff can one see here?

Is this an American friendly area at present?

Margarita is always American (or any other country) friendly. We get lots of guests from the USA & all love it here.

The scuba diving happens near the off shore islands of Los Frailes. Maximum depth is about 15 m (about 50 feet).

While we do not have a reef there are lots of fish & coral heads. The islands themselves are full of sea birds &, if lucky, you may see dolphins or whales.
