Found `lake Titicaca`bus company to be good, on the main st in Copa. Seems to be commonly used among tourists and drops you back to the main bus station in La Paz (there are cheaper buses, generally taken by locals which drop off near the cemetery in La Paz- the opposite side of town).

There are 3 companies of local busses, leaving every 30 minutes or so, no need to book in normal circumlstances, to the Cementary. Some of their busses are new and confortable, other less so.

You may want to use a tourist bus instead of one of the busses that go to cementary. Try Diana Tours.

As it was mentioned There are tourist buses:

- Titicaca Bolivia

- Diana Tours

- Vicuña Travel

I prefer Vicuña Travel, but there is not too much difference among them. I would not recommend to take the public bus that stops at the Cementery of La Paz.

Traveled from Copacabana to La Paz Oct. 2013. Bought our tickets for more than normal price since Diana tours was supposed to have the better service (Trip Adviser) with direct route to the center of La Paz rather than the unsafe bus station. At departure time, we were forces to switch to another company's bus which was smaller and dirty. It turned out to be a "local" bus which stopped to pick and let off passengers along the way. Further, it delivered us to the dicey La Paz bus station.

All of the passengers in the bus were very unhappy and refused to get off the bus at the La Paz bus station, demanding he takes us to the center as promised. In response the driver simply removed all luggage, which would have probably disappeared in a minute if we did not get off the bus and take possession of it. We went to Diana Tours on Sagaranaga street the next day, and they apologized - but I am sure without their consent such bait and switch would not have taken place.

We used Panamericano in July and found them to be excellent.

There is a LOT of bait and switch especially when you book between Puno and La Paz. Try not to book the second leg in advance so that you can see exactly what you are getting in Copacabana.

I wonder what if anything was offered as an excuse by Diana?

We recently used ´Titicaca´ - the bus was old, filthy and in need of modernization. The whole check in procedure is erratic and with no order and the bus picked up / dropped off passengers along the way. It is a pity as the service could be greatly improved for a small increase in fares which are far too low. Overall I would not recommend.
