Hello, sorry if it's a kind of repeating to some older posts. There is a wet season to see mirror effect, but depends on if it was raining a day or week before, and tour jeep may not even go when its wet? So what happen to the plenty of mirror looking photo on google and video on youtube, which looked quite common not by chance? Do you need to find specific tour company to go for wet tour and when is the best month? If it's raining season wouldn't the rain itself disturb the mirror reflection itself?

When there is water the jeep will not go the full length of the salt lake, just stopping at the flag pole.. there must be rain for a while for the flat to become lake.. the reflection of the sky merging with the lake and someone walking on water is surreal..

The rainy season starts around December and lasts only two or three months, and it is very scarce. It rains only 200 mm the whole season! However, the Salt Flats, used to be a lake ... so there is a natural concavity in the area ... Bear in mind, that tour operators have their itineraries and routes ... diverging from the route, even for an experienced guide might be dangerous. If your travel mates agree, the driver might try find a wet spot, not too deep for you to take photos. Depending on the season, that may take some hours.

Also, although the best effects are when there is a film of water on the Salt Flats, you can have great pictures only with the salt surface.

Yea I was there in June and there were hardly any wet spots. However, the Uyuni salt lakes are still amazing and definitely worth going to.
