Day use hotel?

Hi, we are travelling to Myanmar in March 2015. We disembark from a river cruise in Bagan on 18 March and our flight is not until approx 17.30.

Any suggestions please for a hotel which would cater for day visitors in the area.

Thank you in anticipation.

Don't you go and visit around Bagan?

Many hotels offer Day Use. Depends on your budget.

In the river cruises I have taken the company looked after us prior to our flight from Bhamo, Mandalay & Bagan and this included a tour and lunch and in Yangon the day use of a hotel & lunch.

Are the cruise boat just leaving you to do your own thing, maybe check the detail in the itinerary?

Hi SS,

Yes, you are right and the cruise company have offered a tour:

Minanthu village in the heart of the Bagan plain, to see the way of life of the local people. Tour of a brick factory. A visit to Myinkaba, a centre of the ancient craft of lacquerware. The last stop is at a jaggery workshop which produces unrefined sugar.

But it all sounds a bit exhausting and so we want to relax before the flight.

Hi Kkym,

We have been offered a tour but want to relax. The budget is not an issue. Somewhere that has facilities to relax and eat a nice lunch before flying is what we would like.

Regards

Try the Bagan Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort ,lovely position with a pool with views over the river.

Not sure on day rate, try them here

www.thiripyitsaya-resort.com/index.html

or

Aureum Bagan resort, lovely infinity pool, again contact them here

http://www.aureumpalacehotel.com/bagan.html

or get your Agent to get day prices.

Whilst I can recommend them both,Aureum is probably the better for your needs

I would recommend you the Bagan Lodge. The hotel has spacious swimming pool, each 55-sqm deluxe connect to a relaxing veranda. Check for more info here: http://www.bagan-lodge.com/.

First you should go to Mandalay.

Mandalay stay 2/3 nights and take a boat to Bagan. Two kinds of boat , day trip boat and 3 days or 2 days tour boat. Day use and 1 night price is same same.Day use hotel is not much.

They charge one full day.

Thank you all for the information. My travel agent has suggested the Hotel at Tharabar Gate. But following your suggestions and reading the hotel reviews I have decided on the aureum palace.

Thanks again.
