Pirates of the Caribbean snorkel adventure

Hi everyone . We are going to Punta Cana this summer and I was looking at this excursion from Blue Travel . It's called The Pirates of the Caribbean snorkeling adventure. Snorkeling on the sunken ship of the famous Captain Kidd in 1699 and lunch and Palmilla beach. I cant find any info on this sight or youtube. It sounds good , but to find no info on it accept on the Blue Travels web sight worries' me. Tripadvisor does talk about Blue Travel but not this excursion. Any help will be greatly appreciated . Thank You Bill n Lisa

great info Jim, thanks.

that's what i thought of the spot, a "snorkel" to around 25ft would need to be done to get visibility of the remaints, and it is a journey to the caribbean south, not punta cana.

cheers

Yes hotel pick up, on to Cumayasa dock , board pirate ship , off to sunken ship and snorkel .It says " the ship is in less than 10 feet of water , then to natural swimming pool , lunch on Palmilla etc. We know it's about a 1 and 1/2 hour drive to Cumayasa. I just wish I had some reviews t go by . Thanks

sounds like a fun tour and different to the usual saona island natural pool tours in the same area.

give it some time, someone will come up with own experience on the tour.

if not, post it on the Bayahibe/La Romana Forum, as it is running in that area, maybe it is more often done by guests who stay at hotels in that area, as it is close by for them

Will this be an excursion for kids?? Looking closer into the excursion it appears your only on that Pirate ship for 1 hour between 10:30 to 11:30am... the rest of the trip is very similar to the standard Soana trip where you get on a speedboat and take a catamaran at the end of the day.

If its for kids maybe look at this new one below... which appears that you will be on the pirate ship for the entire day and not just 1 hour.

No , our kids are all grown up . We are in our 50's And we travel every summer , So we know what to expect. But we have never been to Punta Cana . Too much catamaran is too much sun , so a little catamaran is o.k. We know its hot and sunny ! but an all day catamaran ( never again) We are just looking for an all day adventure with a little of everything , Also never been to an all inclusive " how nice' we are looking at Majestic colonial ( need all the money up front when booking ?? ?) don't know .... plane tickets are bought , so we will be there. Well welcome to the Punta Cana forums :)

There is all kinds of excursions, some can only be booked online and well in advance as they fill up fast. There is others that cater to smaller groups which should also be booked online and in advance to secure a sport. Finally there is many other excursions that can been booked at the hotel, pool, water sports center when your actually get to the resort.

In regards to your original excursion that you inquired about unfortunately have never heard of it and I can't seem to find much on it when searching the web... This could be a simple fact that it's a newer excursion and has yet to make it on the Punta Cana forums... As Mike mentioned since the trip is from the other side of DR maybe you will have some luck on the Bayahibe/La Romana forums. It's possible that those that vacation on that side of DR have either done it or heard about it.... There is many types of trips that go around that area from big boats, small boats, catamarans, etc so someone may have definitely seen or did that excursion.

If your open to options you might want to look into the Seavis Saona Trip.. This company is long standing and receives high recommendations.. They cater to "small groups" around 20 people on a boat (no catamaran) and they also stay away from the "large groups" to make it a pleasant excursion. Below is the link to their excursion that explains all about it and shows you pictures if you want to take a look.

Since Seavis caters to small groups you will need to book this excursion in advance online to secure a spot as they do fill up very fast.

While your in Punta Cana and if you want to do other excursions and experience some of the "real" Dominican you might want to take a look at Punta Cana Mike's excursions. He is highly recommended and an avid poster on these forums.

The below link lists over 100 things you can do in Punta Cana and it might assist you in choosing an excursion that interests you.
