Check the below website for fall foliage updates.

You can’t miss with Arkansas State Parks. Beautiful, well run and priced right. My favs are the three mountain parks rising above the Arkansas River Valley, Petit Jean, Mt Magazine and Mt Nebo.

Are you going to Mountain View? If so, you can drive Highway 9 between Mountain View and Melbourne to see some good fall color. Also drive Highway 5 between Mountain View and Calico Rock as well as Highway 14 from Mountain View to Blanchard Springs Caverns Recreation Area. Also, if you go to Mountain View you would enjoy visiting the Ozark Folk Center as well as Blanchard Springs Caverns plus go to hear the free music in the evening in the area around the Courthouse Square.

Thank you so much for the info. We had considered Mt. Magazine along with Mt. View Area. Do you think there will be much color next week Tuesday through Friday?

Sorry, failed to mention quaint little towns, maybe with neat shops.

Some quaint Arkansas towns with neat shops come to mind but they may be way out of your path. Eureka Springs of course is the queen of the quaint towns and the shops are more than neat! It is a long drive unfortunately from Mountain View but an awesome place and worth the drive if you have time. I like Van Buren but it too is way away, at the extreme west end of the state. Nonetheless a fun little Main Street to prowl and some great architecture. Calico Rock is pretty - up on a bluff overlooking the White River. Little shops come and go there. You should find at least one or two open. A short drive through the little town is fun. It is about 20 miles from Mountain View. Mountain View business district around the court house has some nice shops. The local ironworks had a wonderful retail store there last time I visited.

Thanks for taking time to write. I appreciate the info. We have been to Calico Rock and love that little place. Eureka Springs may be too far. We are going to Mt. Magazine and I will check to see if Van Buren is a possibility. Thanks Again

If you like winery visits, Mt Magazine is not far from Arkansas wine country. Altus and the nearby wineries are fun to visit. www.arkansas.com/Wine-Trail‎

Since you will be passing through Little Rock, do not overlook it for neat shops. Hillcrest and the Heights are really fun historic shopping and walking streets, lined with stores and cafes.
