I would suggest Pantiacolla but make sure you can use your credit card to pay for the tour

Just got back from a 6 day / 5 night trip with Amazon Wildlife Peru and can not recommend them highly enough. The tour guide (Will) was a Manu local who was enthusiastic and very knowledgable. The tour was well organized, accommodation very good considering your in the jungle and food surprisingly good.

I just returned from the Manu Biosphere Reserve (7D/6N) tour run by Amazon Wildlife Peru and highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit this awesome part of the world!

I was very happy with what was covered in the itinerary. The Madre de Dias & Manu rivers beautifully represented what I always imagined the Amazon Jungle to be. The 7 day trip I went on was in particular AWESOME, because of how deep it went into the jungle. We saw many mammals (capybara, tapirs, countless species of monkeys, giant otters), birds (including heaps of the beautiful macaws and toucans!), reptiles (3 species of caiman, lizards and snakes), amphibians and many interesting insects and spiders (including several tarantulas!). The tour is very well priced for what you get.

Our tour guide William (co-founder of the company) is very friendly, and extremely knowledgable. He knows the names of virtually all animals and plants of the jungle, and has a special interest in birds. He went out of his way to try and meet the desired experiences of all members in our tourgroup. He even fulfilled my dreams of catching a piranha on a fishing line, and holding a baby caiman! William grew up on a farm in Manu, and his local experience undoubtedly gives him the edge over other tour guides.

All of the lodges we stayed at throuhout the trip were very comfortable, and our chef Bernadino was very friendly and extremely talented! Our boat driver Rufino was very experienced and safe. All members of the team were like family by the end of the trip.

Make contact with the Cusco-based office (amazonwildlifeperu@gmail.com or (051) 084-777738) to speak with the friendly manager Carmen, and book a trip now!!!

no offence but a responsible operator should not let people hold wild animals such as caiman

We just did a 7 day/six night Manu tour with Inka Natura, and it was wonderful.

Cusco to Cock-of-the-Rock Lodge in the cloud forest by van, 1 night. (I would have liked another night there since I am a birdwatcher and there are many species to see specific to this habitat)

Drive to Atalaya where we got in our riverboat, then stayed at the Pantiacolla Lodge, 1 night.

Boat to their tented camp within the Reserved ZOne of Manu National Park, 2 nights.

Boat to the Manu Wildlife Center, 2 nights.

Boat and drive to Puerto Maldonado for flight back to Lima or Cusco.

The logistics were handled perfectly, food was good and plentiful and our guide was extremely knowledgable and a great tour leader. On this trip there were just 4 travelers with the one guide, i think they might have 10 guests at the most.

The accommodations were great, with hot showers at all but Pantiacolla and private bathrooms at all except the tented camp. We would definitely travel with InkaNatura again.

I totally agree with kenito. We did everything but the tented camp. Inkanatura was professional from reservation to return and our guide Fiorella was fantastic. I would recommend the trip for anyone who wants to experience the whole range of ecosystems. Another night at Cock of the Rock would have made it perfect for me, but I'm not sure it would have appealed to the non-birders in our group. I made up for it by birding in the cloud forest around Agua Calientes.

I hope you're going to write reviews, kenito. I can't believe some people were not impressed by the Manu Wildlife Center.

Hi, Yes I went with Manu Peru Amazon, I went in the 4 days Work & Travel and later I decided to stay longer there.

The place is fantastic, we camp there, a lot of animals around, I saw monkeys, the big red macaws, many birds, butterfliesone muche nicer than the other, the Peccaries where walking in the area to, there are resident Tapir leaving in the area we found the tracks almost every day, they have an island on the river beach, there by nights are possible to spot caymans. If you want to have a real jungle experience, then I will recommend.

The work helps to understand better the place, longer you stay the better, because every day we saw something different.

The camping is very basic, we had to make fire, bath as in the river, but all this make the experience really better.

I do not know about the other companies but as I checked before Manu Peru Amazon is very affordable, all the companies charge a lot, I paide US$ 180 for 4 days, and then I stayed another 6 days, really value.

My husband and I just returned from Peru (Lima, Cuzco, Salkantay Trek, Machu Picchu) as booked through Nick Stanziano of SA Luxury Expeditions. This was by far the most incredible trip of our lives! They arranged everything from the moment we landed in Lima to the moment we left including hotels, transportation, guides, and restaurant recommendations. SA connected us with the most incredible guide imaginable for our hike on the Salkantay Trail (Antionio Delgado of Wayki Trek).

Nick of SA was so attentive to us while planning and throughout our trip. He called us directly within one hour our initial online inquiry on their website! Anytime we had a question whether about travel details or packing tips we were able to call or email him directly and get an almost immediate reply!

Anyone planning to travel to Peru should definitely use SA Luxury Expeditions.

I would recommend traveling with Amazon Trails Peru, is a highly organized agency. The founder is Abraham Huaman. I went to Manu Biosphere Zone by 5 wonderful days. The accommodation, food, staff were great. (Thanks Jorge for the delicious food, you're a great cook! Mario the driver of the boat helped us in everything.). I was very lucky that Abraham was our guide. my friends and I saw many animals: Big macaws, parrots, river otters, caimans, snakes, wild pork, armadillo, 8 species of monkeys, spiders, bats, beautiful species of birds, etc..

Manu National Park is great. The best place to see animals in the natural state. Is difficult to see many tourists in this area. It is for this reason that wildlife is perfect.

Abraham will answer all your responses. Contact him: www.amazontrailsperu.net

Good luck.!!!!!!!!

Yes, 3 of us have just done this trip with Abraham's tour company and I fully endorse the above review and add the following in relation to this trip and Abraham's tour company:

1. there are different sections of Manu. The Manu Reserve Zone is the pristine section ans as far up river as non indigenous people are allowed ~ this is a must. If you don't go to this section don't waste your time going to Manu.

2. Not all tour companies are licenced to go to the Reserve Zone. Abraham's company is.

3. Abraham is indiginous to this part of the Amazon and so was his guide who escorted us.

These guys see and hear everything in the forest. Invaluable.

4. There are 2 Amazon Trails Peru. One is amazontrailsperu.com, the other is Abraham's company anazontrails.net.

Less said the better but we have no doubt that we went with the right one.

5. The entire crew on our 6 day trip were fantastic - engaging and thoroughly professional and did everything possible to make our trip an amazing experience. In addition Abraham's company was not the most expensive and were extremely flexible - allowing just the 3 of us as a tour group rather than surcharging or waiting for another 12 people to join.
