The beach in Port Soller

Surprisingly, after the big storm of last week, platja d´en Repic (in front of Hotel Marina) has dissapeared. Now all the sand and the beach are in front of Hotel Espléndido.

It is incredible!

Oh, how sad. I noticed last summer that the beach was lower than earlier years. But I think the beach will be fixed up before the bathing season. They have to do this before my arrival in July!!!

Well, ain't geography strange!! I much prefer the "tram" side of the bay - so this meteorological masterpiece means more sand for sitting on there!! Having said that, I usually make myself comfy on the stones leaning against a friendly palm tree.

Yes, the Repic beach is still here! The sea was coming in further up the beach which may have made it look smaller but I can assure you apart from a lot of seaweed at the far end the beach is fine. There are two huge mounds of sand on the other beach ready to be spread out for the summer.

The beach was a bit of a mess when I left yesterday. We were there during the storms in March, it caused some damage to boats & the beaches..... there is a line of small shingle at the waters edge now.... the council have dumped piles of sand outside the El Patio, now there is a shelf into the sea. There is a JCB down at the river bed so hopefully they intend to level the sand. Piles of gravel & stones have been dumped on the river bed, so that should be tidy by main season.
