are the restaurants very expensive in Puerto Soller

Thinking of staying in July 2009 and a bit worried that the meal prices will be too much - looking at staying at The Hotel marina B & B can anybody advise, we went to Nerja this July and a meal with wine for the five of us was about 65 - 95 euros.

Advise please - would hate to book and then not have enough money.

Thank you

There are 46 restaurants in the Port. You can eat very reasonably if you wish. People on Trip Advisor tend to recommend all the most expensive restaurants but you can eat very well elsewhere. You can get a list of all the restaurants from the tourist information office and it's just a case of wandering around to see where you fancy. All the restaurants display their prices outside so there are no nasty surprises.

If you don't want to eat at Marina, you will find many restaurants in the neighbourhood. Don't worry, there are restaurants in all price range. But remember; Majorca is more expensive than mainland.

Returned from Hotel Marina today. Stayed half-board, but change dinner for lunch some days. Lunch and dinner at Marina are buffet. Not a huge range, but we found it OK. Soup, salads, fish and meat, fruit/pastry/dessert. Stayed 4 weeks and with weekly repetition in the menu we need some changes.

Some examples for you:

3 course dinner for 4 with a bottle of house wine at Ses Oliveres 170euros.

Lunch for 4 with soft drinks(one course) eg: Pizza at Sirocco 50euros. (best Pizza in the port!)

2 course dinner at Del Porto for 4 - 90euros

The Marina buffets are OK, when we stayed there B&B they offered us a half board option at a very low price.

A word of warning though, the prices in Campo Sol may seem good but I wouldn't recommend it at all..the service is diabolical, their attitude stinks & the food is dangerous. One of our party was served a suckling pig which was frozen near the bone! When we complained it was snatched away warmed up in the microwave & served again minus the potatoes & veg.... disgusting!

€12 for lunch/dinner buffet at Marina.

Bar Jules is highly recommended. Dined at this place several times last 4 weeks and the food is very tasteful. Prices from €12 for a meal (one course). 150 m from entrance of Marina. Follow this link for more information: http://tinyurl.com/6ns337

there is a lovely restauraunt when you come into the port using the bac road. The road ends up on the seafront by los geranios and the restaraunt is on the left about 50 yds before the prm. Three course meal 7 euros!

I think the restaurant you are referring to is Embat. When we go out to eat with our neighbours we always go there. Not pretentious but the food is good and the waitress is very friendly - nothing is too much trouble. Most people would probably turn their noses up at it but the food is as good as the more expensive restaurants for a fraction of the price.

Sorry that restaurant I think is the Campo Sol. I misread the Geranios for Generoso! Embat is on the side road by the Hotel Generoso.
