Cambria Scarecrow Festival in October

Friends have suggested that the best time to visit Cambria is during the Scarecrow Festival in October. Any thoughts on this? Also where is the best place to stay within walking distance of the scarecrows. Thanks!

October is a perfect month to visit Cambria.

From October 1-31 let the Cambria Scarecrow Festival amuse you while you visit our unique business district filled with boutiques, restaurants, and wine and beer tasting too. Then stroll our unspoiled beaches or hike the many trails that wrap their way from the beach into the pines.

But the word is out. So make your Cambria hotel reservation soon. Since the scarecrows are throughout the business district and along the beach, you can walk to see them from just about anywhere. If you want to be "in town", you might want to consider either the Bluebird Inn or the Olallieberry Inn.

There are also numerous motels on Moonstone Beach Drive, which is also lined with scarecrows. You can drive and park in town, which consists of the "East" and "West" villages, and walk as much as you care to along Main Street and the side streets to see the scarecrows.

Here's more information about the festival from last year:
