We are planning a December 2012 week stay in Carlsbad. We are a large family and have been to Carlsbad before, but have some questions. First, we will stay at either Grand Pacific Resorts, Carlsbad SeaPointe Resort, or Grand Pacific Palisades. We have stayed at Palisades in the past, across form Legoland and loved it, but always like to try new things. I would hate to book Seapointe and have it not be as great though, thoughts? Also, I assume the beach is out due to weather that time of year, we are looking Dec 16th for a week. We definitely plan to head to Disney, and have done every theme park so we are familiar with them. Next concern we have is the pools at either of the resorts, hoping they are not too cold for swimming or are heated. Swimming is one big way to wear out our kids during week long vacations. Also, if you have any eating out suggestions, decent food but very kid friendly and not fancy. We love quality food but are casual people.
