we can not decide where to stay in carmel

looking at lamplighters inn or vagabonds inn

anyone who has some advise we are from the uk 2 aduts

budget around 250-300 a night

I don't think you can go wrong with either place. Lamp Lighter has a somewhat better location, being situated half-way between the business district and the beach - and an easy walk to each. But it's on Ocean Avenue which is a pretty busy street.

Vagabonds is in a somewhat quieter area bordering a forested residential neighborhood. It's not as close to the beach, but shopping and restaurants are close at hand.

If those slight differences don't matter to you, then go with the one with the best price.

We've stayed at both and liked them both. Our latest stay was at the Lamplighter so I'd lean a little more to their property.
