El Centro

Oh everyone is such a complainer!

El Centro's weather is not the best in the summer, but we do have

air conditioned cars, offices, and homes!

We have beautiful winters and lots of activities, we are a very political involved community and our crime rate is low.

We have San Diego 2 hours from here, Mexico is about 15 minutes away-they have over 1 million population there with a vast array of restaurants, shops, pharmacies, hotels, etc. Arizona is about 45 miles away as well with 2-3 casinos, restaurants and quaint shops too. IV is a great place to raise your children too. I have lived here all of my life, don't plan to leave. There is no traffic congestion as in a big city. Every city has it's pros and cons!

The EC hospital could improve it's customer service, but if we are getting some more quality people in here than that is a positive.

We also have another hospital in Brawley (about 15 miles from EC)

That is an excellent hospital.

We have many people coming in from cold areas of our nation, because our winters are so beautiful here. We call those (mostly retired vacationers) :"Snowbirds"-If you have a camera bring it-we have many beautiful species of birds in Imp Valley.

Our desert fauna is fabulous-you will see it blooming in or around Feb., -Everyone is friendly here-Come on over!

The closest major airports are San Diego or Palm Springs, although you can also fly into Imperial (IPL), but you'd have to route through Los Angeles and then take a puddle-jumper to Imperial (I believe United Airlines/Skywest is the only airline that flies to the Imperial airport).

The best hotel in the area is the Marriott Fairfield Inn on Dogwood Road. If that doesn't work for you, there are a Holiday Inn Express and a John Jay Inn as well, both of which are fine.
