Headed out in a day or two. Wondering where to book a room for the night in Eureka or surrounding area. I know Brookings is close, but it's all about taking in sights (suggestions?)up the coast and then sleep somewhere near Eureka prior to heading out for Brookings campsite. After Brookings, going to Bandon, then over to Crater Lake and messing around the lower Rogue River for a bit. Kinda free wheeling it. Tried to get out the door twice before but life had other plans. This time just throwing it all in the back of the car and heading north. No more loosing money on reservations we couldn't keep.

Appreciate some suggestions for a place to lay our heads somewhere around Eureka.

As to sites to see, I read here that the Avenue of the Giants is pretty cool, Founder's Grove, Humboldt Redwoods Vistor Center, Richardson Grove State Park are all good spots to take in.

Thanks for any info ya'll can provide. Happy Trails

The Blue Lake Casino has nice rooms in its hotel and it's not right on the highway like so many motels are in Arcata and Eureka.

First-rate idea, Sonapaoma. Also, the Holiday Inn Express at the Arcata/Eureka airport (in McKinleyville) is always good.

. . . or, going with the casino idea, there's always Bear River, which would put you within easy visiting/dining distance of historic Ferndale. https://www.bearrivercasino.com/default.aspx
