Anyone care to recommend/suggest a family-oriented lodge in/around Eureka that a family of four might use as HQ while enjoying northern California?

Thanks, as always.

Since you are looking for a headquarters in the Northern California area, you might want to consider Trees Motel - Its close to Trees of Mystery (fun if your family includes children under age 12), and is close to Redwood Park and also to Klamath River.

By the way Trees of Mystery

is worth going to.

Best Western Bayshore Inn in Eureka is also a possibility....

Hello, I grew up on the north coast (Fort Bragg) although we traveled to Eureka often I'm sorry I cannot suggest a hotel to stay at but I wanted to tell you to be sure to take your family to eat at the Samoa cook house its GREAT!! they serve logging camp style meals for a authentic look at old logging camp time its a must do also drive to Fort Bragg California (aprox 4 hours from Eureka) spend the night there eat at the cliff house resturant the beaches and rugged redwoods will be something you remember forever! have a great trip. and always WATCH the ocean as the waves will sneak up on you out there many tourist are washed out to sea every year and no one ever warns anyone to always keep an eye on the ocean. (even when it looks flat it can get you) safe travels TLB
