Koh Rong - some questions please?

As with everywhere you read good and bad reports.

Please could I have opinions on following - problems/good points.

Rats

Theft

Quality of food available

Cleanliness of beaches especially the main one.

I am a sun and sea lover, fishing boat trips chilling - is 3 weeks though too long.

I stayed for 4 nights in January. Did not see any rats, beach was very nice as was the food and drink. 3 weeks would be very long.

Perhaps a nice stay if you were a laid back backpacker. I stayed at paradise bungalows, basic accomadation.

3 Weeks on Ko Rong ?. I think a few days is plenty. But it is a nice island . A younger backpacker crowd. The food choices are limited but decent . Some people were telling us there is a stomach bug lingering on the island. She called it " Bacteria island". Which was a little disconcerting. We also stayed at Paradise bungalow. It was O.K. The main beach is quite nice once away from the village.. Over all a cool place , but a little young for us.

I was beginning to think that maybe its too long. Think will do a week in Sihanoukville - week in Koh Rong and then decide what to do with the last week . I am 61 going on 21 - but rats in my bedroom maybe one step beyond.
