dragonstar87 hello in here!!

As you see kimodo forum has no DE, so getting an answer here you have to wait LONGER than in JKT or BDG.

1/ Merpati Airlines increases flights to Indonesia’s nature and diving hotspot – Labuan Bajo, Flores. So it is a welcome development to see that Merpati Airlines now flies more frequently between Denpasar and Labuan Bajo. Before it flew daily; now it operates 13 flights a week. Here is a list of flights between Bali and Labuan Bajo:

Merpati

Wing Air

Trans nusa

2/ As you can see above, Labuan Bajo has the nearest airport to Komodo Island, home of Indonesia’s candidate for the New 7 Natural Wonders of the World: the komodo dragon. The airport was recently renamed Komodo Airport to highlight this. There are many different tour operators based in Labuan Bajo, so organising a tour to Komodo Island (or its neighbour Rinca Island) is not difficult.

3/ Labuan Bajo is also justifiably famous as a centre for diving. There are many dive shops and resorts on and off-shore. You can pre-book a live-aboard before you come, or shop around and arrange it yourself upon arrival.

Sky Aviation were operating DPS-LOP-LBJ, but they stopped the service.

Unfortunately at this time a trip from LOP-LBJ requires LOP-DPS-LBJ.

You get to fly west to Bali, then fly east back over Lombok again to go to Flores.

Frustrating but true.

If you want to go to Flores from Lombok (LOP-LBJ) you need to go to Bali (LOP-DPS) and then fly form Bali to Flores (DPS-LOP).

Sky Aviation previously had a service that operated from Bali, to Lombok, and then onwards to (Flores DPS-LOP-LBJ). They have cancelled that service, so if you see it described anywhere just ignore the information as it is out of date.

So to travel further eastward from Lombok to Flores you must first travel westward to Bali, then get off the aircraft, then board again and travel eastward to Flores. When you do that you will be flying back over Lombok again.

There is no longer a direct flight provided from Lombok (LOP), to Flores (DPS).

you can fly to Labuan Bajo ( Flores, not Komodo island) from Denpasar ( Bali), but not from Lombok ( no direct flights) . As you can see above, Labuan Bajo (Flores) has the nearest airport to Komodo Island. From there you can arrange a tour to Komodo to see dragons or have your tour pre-organized upon departure from Bali.
