Transportation from LAX to Port at Long Beach

Husband and I are taking a cruise in Feb. and need to get from LAX to the Crusie port at Long Beach.

What is the best way to do that? We dont have much time to kill when we arrive at LAX also we will be on a tight time schedule when we return. SO need something dependable.

Taxi...cost will be roughly $80 each way, but any other way such as a shuttle or one-way car rental will take longer and there is no fast or direct public transportation.

Super Shuttle (those blue airporter vans run about $25 for the first passenger and $9 each additional to the same location. Downtown LB is about 20-25 miles from LAX. If you're taking a cruise, it's well worth your money to go by Super Shuttle or taxi rather than public transit.

To reach downtown LB by transit:

1. Take the free shuttle from LAX to the Green Line station, about 1-1/2 miles away.

2. Take the Green Line east.

3. Transfer to the Blue Line and go south to the end.

4. Walk or taxi to a downtown hotel.

5. Take a (free?) red shuttle bus from the downtown to the cruise ship terminal.
