Airfares for Children

I want to take my grandchildren to L.A. I have frequent flyer miles but not enough for 3 children. Do any airlines offer student fares or does anyone know of a way to travel without paying full fare? A million thanks. L.A.'s calling me.

I would just call different airlines and ask that particular question. I am sure they can help more than we on this board here

Children under 2 traveling in their own seat normally get a 50% discount of the full fare - it can be cheaper to buy a low fare ticket than take the discount. Children traveling stateside pay adult prices. When flying internationally, many children's fares are less than the adults.

Look into flying Southwest Airlines or JetBlue as they often have very reasonable fares.
